Somatic Movement Education is a gentle system of movements performed lying down to relieve tension and pain and improve movement, posture and flexibility.  It is a helpful process to prepare you to enjoy other activities and live with more comfort.

Somatic Series

Andrew Teufel will teach the theory of Somatics and movements specific to helping decrease tension, stress and pain – improve mobility, well-being, gait and posture. Andrew has been teaching Somatics for over 24 years.

Your instructor will teach the theory of Somatics as well as the movements specific to helping decrease tension, stress and pain – improve mobility, well-being, gait and posture.

No experience necessary. At these classes we take a class consensus and provide education and movement to help students be more comfortable and move with more ease.

Active Living Somatics
Mondays 5:00pm – 6:30pm

Being Somatics

At these classes we take a class consensus and provide education and movement to help students be more comfortable and move with more ease.

Wednesdays: Noon – 1:00pm

Somatic Yoga

This gentle practice is a guided practice of self-study to help you gain awareness and learn to self-release muscle tension and improve joint mobility.  Learn to explore within your limits to benefit your overall well-being.

Advanced Somatic Yoga (Level II)

Suitable for students who want to progress their practice toward balancing, strength and flexibility. Not suitable for individuals with joint injuries or acute pain.

Tai Chi Gong

A combination of Tai Chi, Chi Gong, chanting and meridian tapping, guided meditation and education (on a variety of health issues, lifestyle, etc.). It is designed to heal the body, calm the mind, and bring clarity to one’s perception. The exercises in this class are gentle, calming, holistic and easy to follow and highly effective for pain and stress. There are sitting and standing components to this class. Jet continuously brings different excercises and ideas to his class as he continues to learn and evolve this style of spontaneous and creative teaching.

Notes

Equipment provided or you can bring your own yoga mat for appropriate classes. You do not need to wear gym clothing for Somatics classes but please wear loose, comfortable clothing.
